THE POWER OF A BOLD LIP

We all are a little bored with our makeup routine sometimes. Well, sometimes more than “sometimes”. Research suggests that we only use 8-10 makeup products frequently, and the rest are left for “special occasions” and slowly spoil in our makeup bags, or drawers, or closets. One way to update your makeup look and put a little “kick” in your day is by introducing stronger colors.

So often we opt for beiges and neutrals and stay on the same vibrational frequency as always. However, to look better (and have things one has never done before), one has to do things that they never have done before. Or at least different things.

Especially on the days when everything seems pretty grim, a pop of color on just one area of your face can give you the lift needed. One of the easiest things, I think, is the bold lip. It does not have to be screaming “I am going out and painting the town red tonight” color. It can be a pretty sheer coral or a matte fuschia.

Did you know that when you have a bold lip on, as you walk down the street, men will be more likely to turn?

But more importantly, women will also be inspired. A recent personal story only confirmed that. One morning I showed up for a meeting wearing a flowy, black & white, striped bodysuit with a red coral lipstick. I was feeling great! It was one of those days where everything seems effortless. Where you feel like you are in charge of your life and your magnetism and enthusiasm are contagious. I met with one person to work on a school project for our kids' school. We made great headway and the vibe was good and I felt happy and content.

What happened next though, surprised me... Later that day we both had to attend a bigger meeting with many other parents from school. So I arrived on time, as usual, to take my seat and to contribute.

Suddenly I saw the person with whom I had the meeting earlier that day. To my surprise, she had shown up in a FLOWY, BLACK & WHITE, STRIPED BODYSUIT WITH A RED CORAL LIPSTICK! Basically exactly the same exact outfit and makeup look that I had earlier that day! She was a bit surprised and shy when she saw me at that meeting, as I don't think she was expecting to see me there. However, she took it in high stride, smiled at me, and said: “Well, (gesturing to her outfit from head to toe) I clearly felt inspired!”. And it made me feel so warm and good inside.

You have the power to do the same.

If you think “Oh, I cannot pull it off. What will people think when they see me with a crazy lip color?”. Think again. When you walk by a woman with beautiful colorful lips on the street, do you feel that way? Mostly we just think that she looks great! So be that woman. Uplift your energy and every woman as well! 💋
